There are photographic stops along the route in order that you may truly appreciate the scenic splendour and marvel at the engineering feats involved in the lines construction.

Queenstown connections:

Taieri Gorge Railway can take you from Dunedin to Queenstown, or vice-versa, on a special train'n'coach tour.

The normal running time for a coach from Pukerangi to Queenstown is 4 hours.
A daily coach from Queenstown connects with The Taieri Gorge Limited train via the Maniototo and Strath Taieri Plains.

Central Otago Rail Trail:
Middlemarch (a morning trip on the train most mornings over the summer) marks one end of the very popular Central Otago Rail Trail. A bicycle trip that can run over several days through to Clyde, or you can cycle part of the trail from one of the locations en-route. See more information on the Central Otago Rail Trail
