Our Maori culture is rich in the historically changing images of our people. From our long sea voyages our peace and our wars and of our survival, we wear the mantle of the land with dignity and respect.

Our culture embraces the heartbeat of a people caring nation. We sing, dance and live to the rhythm of life. Born conservationists, deeply ceremonial, factually spiritual and communally visionary, no writing exists of our beginning or our past But we read the stars, the moon, the seasons, the tides, the days, the nights, the months, the years and the subtle changes in our environment. Where trees whisper and sing in harmony with mankind to celebrate the greatest gift the understanding of our spirit.

Protocols in preparation for the ceremonies to follow as you travel by coach to our village, set deep in the forest, around 15 minutes South of Rotorua.

A traditional welcome ceremony signals entry in to the pre- European village. Huge crackling open fires in front of traditional whare (houses), the sound of ancient Maori instruments and the activities of the people of days gone by, create a palpable and electric atmosphere.

At the heart of this village, the meeting house, the Rangiatea culture group offer a glimpse of the tradition, performance, songs and history of the Maori people.

See learn and taste food that has been cooked the ancient way as the night unfolds to a relaxed, informal, friendly and fun atmosphere of feasting and entertainment. All meats and vegetables are cooked in the traditional fashion, beneath the ground on hot rocks. Dinning is buffet style with the menu consisting of: Lamb, Chicken, Smoked Fish in white sauce, Kumara (sweet potato), Potato, Carrots, Coleslaw, Seasoning, Raw Mussels and Fried Bread. For your desert you can enjoy Steamed Pudding, Fruit Salad, Custard and Cream. Vegetarian meals are a specialty and are catered for on request. A fully licensed bar is available for you to enjoy with you dinner.

Transport is provided for the evening dinners and consists of 45-50 seater coaches.
