The History of The Hotel
The Chalet Chevron B&B Hotel in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand has
a rich history of providing comfortable lodgings in charming surroundings
to weary travellers from near and far – for generations.
Originally built as a substantial family home in 1929, the English
Cottage Style Chalet Chevron was later extended and converted to
accept "paying guests" in its 12 quaint and uniquely styled bedrooms
all with private ensuite bathrooms so as to provide some of the
most charming accommodation in Auckland.
Chalet Chevron stands proudly on the slopes of Parnell (which was
established as the first suburb in New Zealand in 1841) , in the
knowledge that she is one of New Zealand's oldest, well-kept, private
Bed and Breakfast hotels in New Zealand's first and most vibrant
neighbourhood.
Having been a large family home in a former life, the Chalet Chevron offers
12 Guest rooms of varying shapes and size, colours and themes. As
such, each room retains its own unique character and charm.
The sun streams into the Guest dining room each fine day and Guests
from all over the world make new friends over breakfast.
Each Guest room has a private ensuite bathroom, colour TV, direct
dial telephone with built in alarm clock radio, wireless internet
access, in room snack bar and complimentary coffee & tea making
facilities.
Some rooms have spectacular harbour views with the lower Cozy Single
rooms enjoying views over the Chalet's gardens and grounds.
We provide hairdryers, irons/ironing boards and offer a same day
bagwash laundry service*. Wireless internet access* is available
throughout the Chalet as well as a computer located in the Guest
lounge with broadband internet access* for guest use. Luggage storage
is also available.
