The Lodge
Bay of Islands Lodge sits above one of the area's
few remaining un-milled coastal rainforests.
Surrounded by a native bush reserve, every major
room enjoys uninterrupted views across Veronica
Channel to the Russell peninsula and as far as Black
Rocks, Moturoa Island and beyond.
Design and Style
The two-level cedar clad lodge was built in 2004.
The contemporary design is enriched by the extensive
use of native timbers and a soft natural earthy
colour scheme throughout which blends harmoniously
with its surrounding environment.
Special Features
The upper-floor of the lodge features an expansive
open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining areas,
floor-to-ceiling windows and large decks to showcase
the captivating views-of nothing but native bush,
sea, and sky.
To provide a luxurious and relaxing environment from
which to enjoy those therapeutic tranquil views, the
lodge also features two central wood-burning
fireplaces, rich dark-brown leather sofas, oriental
rugs, traditional Maori weavings and artefacts. Four
spacious guest bedrooms and an "infinity" plunge
pool and surrounding deck are located on the lower
floor.
Dining At The Lodge
The enjoyment of food, wine and congenial company
are an integral part of the Bay of Islands Lodge
experience.
Our cuisine could be perhaps best described as
'contemporary New Zealand', an innovative mix of
rejuvenated traditional favourites, with some of the
ingredients and inspirations drawn from European and
Asian countries, prepared and served in a
refreshing, down to earth, unpretentious way.
The emphasis is on the freshest and seasonally best
- such as seafood caught locally and often on the
day, spray free / organic vegetables and fruit from
the market gardens of nearby Kerikeri, and free
range / grass fed meat and poultry from the
surrounding district.
Dinner
Dinners are optional, but highly recommended, one
could almost say 'a must do'!
Dinners are 3-4 course affairs, accompanied by fine
New Zealand and Australian wines. It's a set menu,
designed around guest's preferences, with any
dietary needs or likes readily taken into
consideration. Dinner attire is smart-casual, with
the meal served traditionally in a communal setting,
enjoyed in the congenial company of other guests.
Cost: NZ$95 per person inclusive of dinner wines.
Breakfast
Consisting of variety of cereals, compotes, fresh
seasonal fruit, yoghurts, freshly squeezed orange
and other juices, the best coffee from our Italian 'Saeco'
espresso machine, a wide choice of teas, hot
chocolate, and for the true continental - a
selection of breads, cold meats and cheeses. As well
as cooked favourites - both savoury and sweet - from
the traditional bacon and eggs, omelettes of your
choice and pancakes, to daily specials that may
include eggs benedict, smoked fish cakes, nasi
goreng, hash-browns... or you may have a favourite
of your own. Continental and cooked breakfast is
included in the tariff.

lunches are also available on request.
