THE LODGE
Awaroa Lodge was originally built in 1991 to offer New Zealand and international
travellers the opportunity to experience a unique national park and beach
destination.
In realising this dream it was agreed to 'touch the earth lightly' and
preserve the authenticity of a unique and beautiful location, set on 19
hectares of private land surrounded by national park. To this end Awaroa
Lodge has been working towards and has recently gained 4 star Qualmark
status and the Green Globe benchmark status.
Sustainable tourism has remained at the forefront of thinking, reflected
in the significant wetland enhancement process, and the commitment to
environmentally friendly business practice.
Awaroa Lodge is 100% New Zealand owned and managed.
